Lazer

AI Business Intelligence Platform

Lazer came to me looking to design a BI tool that lets anyone run data queries and get insights instantly – no code, no bottlenecks.

With an intuitive, AI-driven interface, users can ask questions in plain language, get real-time insights, and create reports without relying on data analysts.

Queries

I designed the queries edit page for a seamless self-service data experience.

A side panel provides quick access to company data tables, while the main sections vertically guide users through connecting a data source, writing a plain-language prompt, and generating SQL—with a built-in engineer verification system.

Users can run queries, view structured results, and generate charts, with intuitive actions like exporting or saving queries for future use.

Global Navigation

The Queries dropdown in the top nav gives users quick access to adding a new query, and viewing their recent, most viewed, and starred queries – making it easy to jump back into important work without searching.

Queries Index

The queries index page lets users search, filter, and sort by key criteria to find a query.

Hover over a query for a SQL tooltip, or easily create new queries, all in one streamlined view.

Fully Customizable

Users can drag and drop data elements into the X and Y axes to quickly create personalized charts, giving them full control over their visualizations.

Its collapsible design keeps the page clean and uncluttered, allowing users to focus on core query tasks without distractions.

Dashboards

A top-level view of all dashboards—company-made, user-created (verified or not), and starred.

Users can search, filter, and sort through them, with a quick action to create a new dashboard.

Customizable

Users can customize their dashboard by dragging and dropping widgets, tailoring the layout to fit their needs.
